Car Traffic
All Danube bridges and main roads leading out of the city are easy to reach from the area. Even the airports are only 20 minutes away, since the most direct route (Üllői Road outbound) is adjacent to the area.
The reevaluation of the transportation infrastructure of the area led to its modernization based on the increase of traffic volume. The analysis of computer aided traffic simulation led to the reform of the previous traffic scheme, intended to prevent complications resulting from the growth of car volume in the area. Easy access and wait-free exiting will be helped by 3 new turning-lanes.
3 New Left Turns:
- From Üllői Road onto József Ring Road, continuing into Práter Street
- From Üllői Road into Nagytemplom Street (functioning since Oct. 2005)
- From Futó Street onto Üllői Road, in the direction of the Airport
The entire area of the promenade will be off-limits to cars, open only to people and bicycles. Cars will only be allowed to use the cross-streets, while observing the reduced (30 km/h) speed limit.
